A Note From Jayne

In fall of 2016 I found a new life path in the form of a little Boston Terrier puppy I named Evie.  She brought light to a dark time in my life, and I began to try to train her as my service dog.  Working with her reginited a childhood love for dog training & launched me on a new career path.  I made the abrupt decision to make a cross coastal move to attend a small university in CA.  The program was a service dog breeding & raising program and would allow me to graduate with a Bachelor's of Science in "Cynology"- the study of dogs.

For the last 6 years I have dedicated myself extensively to understanding how dogs think & learn and why they do the things they do.  I have studied behavior modification training under top professionals.  I have learned how to bring a dog to a service dog level of obedience.  I've explored the nooks and crannies of the training world- training for dog sports, police dog training, gundogs, duck and sheep herding, Hollywood animal training.  I've worked with owners on everything from for-fun trick training and agility to puppy raising to serious behavior modification.

August of 2021 saw me back in my hometown of Brooklyn.  After the surge in dog ownership since the start of the Pandemic, down-to-earth and dynamic training information is more needed than ever.  As we all adjust to our newest normal, there is an increasing need to reliable and expert sitting and walking help.  Finest Mind Canine seeks to meet those needs, and to help connect a community of dog lovers amid the chaos of the busiest city on earth."
